Farm flow 2025

The hulling for everyone who took part in the rice-growing workshop is done,
and this year's rice-field work is finished!

Thanks to you all, the work was a pleasure.
Farm work has to be done when it has to be done, so there are times when it gets busy — and it's exactly then that I felt how grateful I am for companions to work with.

Those of you who took part — what is it about farm work that you find valuable?
It's true the yield was small this year. It didn't come close to self-sufficiency.
But precisely because of that, I feel grateful that there is food at all.

"It's quicker to buy it"; "how efficiently can I earn the money for that"; placing value on succeeding at that —
I'm convinced there are things you only see by stepping one pace away from the values at the core of modern civilisation.

Will it rain next year? What kind of conditions will we have?
Over the winter I'll study SRI, a method in which rice grows splendidly even with little water!
