Farm flow — the grow-your-own-rice workshop
This year, too, the season of harvesting, hanging the rice on racks and treadle threshing has come around.
Our participant T's friends came along too, and lunch was — a barbecue!
And our neighbour M brought a junior-high student who has stopped being able to go to school, to join the harvest. I hope this can be a place where that young person feels safe.
There is no single right way to live. There isn't just one answer. You're fine being here. — Without saying any of that out loud, we harvested rice together and talked about favourite ramen shops and games.
Ah, now I want ramen.
I'm glad the lively, our-family-style scene has returned to the rice field. Grateful.
The harvest continues a little longer.
