Event announcement: AI Terakoya ── budding edge

AI Terakoya ── budding edge
A workshop to build your own "personal secretary"

The theme of the first session is "Build your own personal secretary".

You'll turn your own computer into a personal secretary.
The tools are AI and a note-taking app.

Here's what becomes possible:
・It tells you today's schedule every morning
・It writes social media posts as if you had written them yourself
・Ask what the fields were like ten years ago, and it tells you
・It finds the document you need among 7,000 files in an instant, and tidies away the ones you don't

The AI we use is Google's Antigravity.
The note-taking app is Obsidian.

As you enter diaries, reading notes, ideas and so on, Obsidian accumulates more and more about you.
Inside your own computer. Not somewhere on the internet.

AI × Obsidian = a personal secretary that grows the more you use it.
The AI learns your writing habits and patterns of thought, and comes to write text that feels like you wrote it.

Things browser AI (ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude) can't do become possible.
From asking and searching → to making together.

Shall we build a personal secretary?

🛠️ What you'll experience and complete in the first workshop

  1. Initial setup of the "Second Brain" roadmap (course materials)
We'll do the initial environment setup — where people tend to give up — all together, and finish the first step on the spot.
  2. Sharing real examples
For "how do I actually use it from here?", the host shows concrete, real uses: organising ideas, daily habits, task management and more.
  3. Trying the daily command
You'll try, on your own PC, the "Daily Start" command, which talks with AI at the start of the day to set your stance.

Postscript
The origin of "budding edge"

Buds are shoots, and edge means a rim.
In English, "cutting edge" is used to mean the leading edge.
So I coined the phrase "Budding Edge" (the edge where things sprout) to mean a place for learning together how to use AI as a tool for enriching our own "living".

While thinking up the event name, wanting one that would reach people in their teens and twenties too, I remembered the words of Professor Tina Seelig of Stanford University.

"Opportunities are often right in front of us — beyond your own desk, outside your building, across the street, or around the corner."
"Uncertainty is the essence of life, and it fuels opportunity."
"Take small risks that stretch you out of your comfort zone."

And in "edge" I also put the meaning of the "edge of chaos" in complexity science.
The stability of instability resonates with the words that uncertainty is the essence of life.

Letting go of the illusion of stability, savouring change, enjoying it together with companions — I don't think age has anything to do with that attitude.
AI Terakoya is a "Budding Edge" that cheers on the courage to take a step around a corner you can't see past.
